Inquiry by Design (IBD) is pleased to announce the full adoption of its secondary Spanish Language Arts (SLA) curriculum by three school districts for the 2026–2027 school year: Reynolds School District in Troutdale, OR; Jump Immersion School in East Hanover, NJ; and Clovis Global Academy in Clovis, CA.
Reynolds School District, home to a K–5 dual language program more than 25 years in the making, is extending that foundation into secondary grades with IBD’s 6–8 SLA curriculum this year. Jump Immersion School, a small bilingual school in New Jersey, is the first school in the state to adopt IBD’s SLA curriculum, alongside its adoption of ELA. Clovis Global Academy, a Spanish dual immersion school currently serving grades K–7, is adopting both SLA and ELA with tentative plans to grow toward a full K–8 program.
Inquiry by Design’s SLA curriculum is designed for heritage speakers, dual language learners, and students with interrupted schooling, treating home language as an asset rather than a gap to close. Students read diverse, authentic Spanish-language texts and build toward the Seal of Biliteracy, a credential that opens doors in college and career.
“It’s incredibly exciting to see districts across the country extending Spanish literacy beyond elementary school and into middle and high school,’ said Nick Resnick, Chief Executive Officer at Inquiry by Design. A student’s opportunity to learn in Spanish shouldn’t end after fifth grade. The ability to read, write, speak, and listen fluently in two languages is an extraordinary strength—and one that will serve students for the rest of their lives. We’re proud to partner with districts making that commitment through our Spanish Language Arts curriculum.”
